Gasoline Pump Prices Keep Falling, Lundberg Reports

asoline pump prices continued to drop in the two weeks ended Friday, falling 11 cents to an average $2.16 a gallon for all grades, analyst Trilby Lundberg reported in her latest survey of filling stations.

Unleaded regular averaged $2.13 a gallon nationwide, midgrade was $2.24 and premium was $2.33 a gallon, Lundberg reported in her semimonthly survey.

Among stations surveyed, the lowest average price in the country for regular unleaded was $1.89 in Tulsa, Okla., while the highest was $2.55, in Honolulu.



Gasoline prices have plunged nearly a dollar a gallon since topping out at a record $3.069 on Sept. 5 following Hurricane Katrina, according to the Department of Energy.

DOE is scheduled to release its latest diesel and gasoline retail price survey Monday afternoon.
