FMCSA Shuts Down Ga. Private Carrier

Federal regulators have ordered Georgia-based logging company Judson Mobley Logging to stop operating its trucks, declaring it an “imminent hazard to public safety.”

The company operated three trucks in a private fleet in “knowing, substantial and flagrant disregard of the federal requirements on vehicle maintenance and repair, vehicle out-of-service orders, qualification of drivers and controlled substances and alcohol use and testing,” the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration wrote.

Under the order, issued Thursday and released by FMCSA on Monday, Judson Mobley may not operate any commercial vehicles, nor load or unload vehicles, unless the order is lifted.

“Unsafe truck companies that jeopardize public safety have no place on our roads,” FMCSA Administrator Anne Ferro said in a May 7 statement.

Called for comment, no one answered phones at Judson Mobley’s office.
