FMCSA Names TeBeau New Chief Counsel

he Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration said July 1 that Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta had appointed Suzanne TeBeau to be the agency’s new chief counsel.

TeBeau joins FMCSA from the office of the secretary, where she was a policy advisor on safety, hazardous materials, transit and rail reorganization matters.

Prior to joining DOT, TeBeau was vice president of government affairs and affirmative action for the Chicago Transit Authority.



She also has worked for the DOT’s Research and Special Programs Administration (which has since been reorganized and split into the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration and the Research and Innovative Technology Administration) and the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on motor carrier, hazmat and pipeline issues, FMCSA said.
