FMCSA Issues Out-of-Service Order to N.C. Carrier

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has ordered an alleged reincarnated Murfreesboro, N.C., recycled steel and roofing shingles motor carrier to immediately cease all operations due to a pattern of serious safety violations that pose an “imminent hazard to public safety.”

FMCSA said in a statement late last week that after a thorough review, investigators found the company — operating under the names Two Dayes Trucking and Two Dayes Transport — and two of its drivers had demonstrated substantial and flagrant disregard for federal requirements for vehicle maintenance and repair, driver hours of service, driver qualifications and controlled substance and alcohol use.

An investigation following a Nov. 12 fatal crash involving a Two Dayes truck determined that the company was operating under a revoked U.S. Department of Transportation registration and that the company had reincarnated as Two Dayes Transport. Both companies were found to have combined operations that consistently displayed a blatant disregard for vital safety regulations.

The company declined to comment on the out-of-service order.
