Florida East Coast Railway is sponsoring the Susan G. Komen North Florida 20th Race for the Cure and painted two of its trains pink to support the cause.

The Jacksonville, Florida based railway’s trains, which went into operation in September, also feature the pink ribbon associated with the Komen organization.

“Every day and in every location where we operate these locomotives, FECR is keeping the need to find a cure for breast cancer visible and top of mind,” FECR President James Hertwig said in a statement.

The race will be held Oct. 18 at the Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville. Participants can run, walk or jog on a 2 kilometer or 5 kilometer course.

“I am elated that Florida East Coast Railway is returning for their second year as our Race for the Cure naming sponsor,” Delores Wise, executive director of Susan G. Komen North Florida, said. “Together, FECR and Komen North Florida are addressing the fear, the fight and the cure of breast cancer.”
