FedEx Express announced the introduction of FedEx One Rate, a flat-rate shipping option.

Under the service, customers do not have to weigh or measure FedEx envelope shipments less than 10 pounds or FedEx Express boxes 50 pounds or less, according to the company.

“For consumers and small businesses alike, FedEx One Rate pricing allows customers to plan and control their express shipping costs more easily. They can add to the box without adding to the cost,” Raj Subramaniam, executive vice president of marketing at FedEx Services, said in a statement.

To use the One Rate pricing, customers select one of 12 express-packaging options, and the price is based on distance, service selected and packaging type, according to FedEx.

FedEx Express is a subsidiary of Memphis, Tenn.-based FedEx Corp., which ranks No. 2 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
