Factory Orders Increase for First Time in 7 Months

U.S. factory orders rose 0.2% in February, the first increase since July, the Commerce Department reported April 2.

Analysts had forecast a 0.4% drop, Bloomberg News reported.

Excluding transportation orders, which generally are  more volatile, orders rose 0.8%, the most since June.

Orders for manufactured durable goods fell 1.4%, and transportation equipment fell 3.3%.
