Factory orders dropped 0.6% in September after a 10% decline the prior month, the Commerce Department reported Nov. 4.

September’s decline matched expectations, according to Reuters. Orders excluding transportation were flat for the second month.

August orders for durable goods, manufactured products expected to last three years or more, declined by a revised 1.1% from an initially reported 1.3% according to the news service.

The trucking industry relies on factory orders and shipments for much of its business.
