Expeditors’ Third-Quarter Profit Jumps

Logistics firm Expeditors International of Washington’s third-quarter profit jumped to $96.1 million, or 44 cents a share, from $57.8 million, or 27 cents, a year ago, a per-share gain of 63%.

Revenue rose 61% to $1.67 billion, the logistics company said in a statement Tuesday.

Airfreight revenue rose to $751.6 million from $457.4 million, ocean freight and services revenue rose to $599.3 million from $331.5 million and customs brokerage services rose to $316.7 million from $248.5 million.

Seattle-based Expeditors International of Washington is ranked No. 19 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics companies.
