Existing Home Sales Fall 1.9% in August

xisting home sales fell 1.9% in September, marking the first back-to-back monthly decline since 1990, the National Association of Realtors said Wednesday.

The level dropped to a 6.18 million annual rate in September, its lowest level since January, from August’s 6.3 million rate, NAR said.

Sales fell in every region but the south, declining 4.7% in the Northeast, 3.1% in the West and 2.8% in the Midwest. Sales in the South rose 0.4%.



Existing home sales account for 85% of the residential real estate market in the United States. When a home is sold, trucks are usually used to transport household appliances and furniture.
