Exel Changing Name to DHL Supply Chain

Exel, the Westerville, Ohio, firm ranked No. 6 on the Transport Topics list of the Top 50 largest logistics companies in North America, has announced it is changing its name to DHL Supply Chain in 2016.

The change reflects an expansion of focus "to enable a global customer experience," the company said. "Transitioning to DHL Supply Chain is part of our evolution to better serve our customers with a simplified and seamless logistics solution." It added that the new name "allows us to operate as a consistent brand in all customer markets."

Exel, a subsidiary of Germany's Deutsche Post DHL, had 47,000 employees and an estimated $1.8 billion in net revenue in North America in 2014. Among its services are warehousing and distribution, transportation management, supply chain consulting and order fulfillment.
