ENow to Show Solar Technology on Wal-Mart Truck

ENow will display its latest solar-battery charging technology on a Wal-Mart truck at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

Based in Warwick, Rhode Island, the company said its eCharge solar products supply auxiliary power to refrigeration units, cab climate control systems, lift gates, telematics and safety lighting.

The technology is approved for use by the California Air Resources Board and has been implemented by a number of fleets, including Arpin Van Lines, the company said.

ENow also said a recent study by the Ohio State University’s Center for Automotive Research found the products can offer a 15.7% reduction in fuel consumption from less idling and a 1.4% boost in efficiency when operating at a steady speed of 60 mph.
