Eberspaecher Climate Control Systems North America has hired Brian Covello as its president, the company announced Oct. 14.

A mechanical engineer with a lengthy business career, Covello has worked as a general manager or president for three Ontario-based companies: Magna Powertrain, Groeneveld Transport Efficiency and Court Valve Co.

Covello replaces Volker Hohensee as Eberspaecher's president. Hohensee left the company last year.

Eberspaecher used to be known as Espar Heater Systems.

“Brian is a proven business leader with a wealth of experience building world-class manufacturing companies, delivering customer-centric product solutions and driving sales growth,” the Eberspaecher statement said.

Eberspaecher’s North American branch has its headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario. It is a part of the Eberspächer Group of Esslingen, Germany.

The corporation’s three major global divisions, in order of size, are exhaust technology, climate control systems and automotive controls.

In North America, Eberspaecher is known for its diesel-fired heating systems that provide in-cab warmth without the need for engine idling.

The company also supplies independent coolant systems for quick engine pre-heating.
