Eaton to Close Indiana Transmission Plant

Truck parts manufacturer Eaton Corp. plans to close a plant in Greenfield, Ind., and move its operations to North Carolina and Mexico, Bloomberg reported.

The plant, whose 105 employees will be laid off, remanufactures truck clutches and assembles medium-duty transmissions, Bloomberg said. Eaton predicts plant will be closed by the end of October.

Transmission operations will be moved to Eaton’s facilities in North Carolina and Mexico, while remanufacturing will be outsourced, Bloomberg said. Eaton has not decided where to relocate clutch operations.
