Eaton Acquires Diesel Processing Technology From Catalytica

n a $2.4 million deal, vehicle parts maker Eaton Corp. acquired on Thursday diesel fuel processing technology from Catalytica Energy Systems.

Under the agreement, Eaton will take over Catalytica’s research and development facility in Mountain View, Calif., a 12-person facility that designs and develops emission control products.

Jim Sweetnam, president of Eaton’s truck group, said the manufacturer it will use the technology to help its customers meet Environmental Protection Agency’s upcoming 2010 emission regulations.
