Drivewyze Raises $7.5 Million to Expand Weigh Station Bypass System

Trucking technology firm Drivewyze said it has raised $7.5 million to expand its weigh station bypass system.

The company’s PreClear system allows fleets with good safety scores to bypass weigh stations, avoiding inspection delays.

The company said the funding from Emergence Capital partners and iNova Capital will help achieve its goal of full national coverage in 2014. The service is currently available at 223 locations across 16 states.

“By leveraging our commercial mobile radio service transponder technology, we have created a game changer for the trucking industry,” Drivewyze CEO Brian Heath said in a statement.

“Fleets can access more sites and higher ROI services without the limitations of traditional roadside hardware. All you need is a Web and GPS-enabled device in the cab,” he said.
