DOT Taking Public Comments on Transportation Strategic Plan

The Department of Transportation is asking the public for comments on its four-year strategic plan for the nation’s transportation and infrastructure.

Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said in an online posting Tuesday that “developing and implementing our strategic plan is an important step in helping [it] address key priorities that represent the diverse interests of our stakeholders across the country.”

DOT has been working on its strategic plan for fiscal years 2014 through 2018 since the spring, and the online dialogue provides an opportunity to read and respond to what others are saying about the plan, Foxx said.

The strategic plan is available to review online, where comments may be posted, or comments may be e-mailed to DOTstratplan@dot.gov. Comments are due Friday, Sept. 6.
