DOT Sec. Mineta Praises ABF for Safety, Security Initiatives

img src="/sites/default/files/images/articles/printeditiontag_new.gif" width=120 align=right>On a visit to ABF Freight System Inc.'s headquarters in Fort Smith, Ark., Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta praised the company for its safety and security initiatives.

Mineta toured the facility for about 40 minutes Aug. 29 during a stop at a regional airport.

"They [are] a role model for our entire industry," said the secretary in his remarks after the tour. "Transportation is the engine that drives our economy. We all depend on it for the things we need every day."
