Distillate stockpiles fell by almost 900,000 barrels, while crude oil supplies gained about 120,000 barrels for the week, DOE said in its weekly inventory report.

Analysts were forecasting a drop in crude inventories of 500,000 barrels, Bloomberg reported.

Gasoline supplies fell by 1.2 million barrels, DOE said. That was a bigger drop than analysts’ forecasts of a 250,000 barrel drop, Bloomberg reported.
