Dicom Transportation Group of Montreal, Quebec, said it has acquired Modern Forwarding in Windsor, Ontario, as part of an effort to expand its capabilities in handling cross-border freight shipments.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Dicom CEO Scott Dobak said Modern provides custom clearance and shipping of goods from the United States to destinations in Ontario. The company operates a small fleet with about 100 drivers and owner-operators.

The acquisition is the second for Dicom since being acquired in February 2014 by Wind Point Partners, a Chicago-based investment firm. Dicom acquired Time Logistics Couriers, based in Norcross, Georgia, in November.
