Dicom Transportation Group, a North American freight and logistics company, has acquired Orbis Logistics to add final-mile delivery capability and expand its distribution services in the United States.

Montreal-based Dicom didn’t disclose terms for the acquisition of Orbis, which operates warehouses in four states and provides services in the Midwest and Southeast.

The statement from Dicom said the acquisition continues its strategy to extend services into the United States. Dicom offers small package, truckload, less-than-truckload and intermodal services in Canada and the United States.

“The additional capabilities provided by this acquisition are consistent with the focus of Dicom since its beginning more than 40 years ago to provide unique transportation and logistics solutions across a variety of industries,” said Dicom CEO Scott Dobak, who previously was a senior executive at Roadrunner Transportation Systems. “Orbis Logistics serves as a perfect final-mile complement to our current transportation network in the United States.”

Dicom in March acquired Modern Forwarding, a Canadian logistics company, four months after buying Time Logistics Services, which is based in Georgia. Dicom’s majority owner is Wind Point Partners, a private equity company that acquired control in March of last year, when Dobak was named CEO.
