eutsche Post AG, the parent of DHL Americas, reported higher third quarter earnings, though profits fell short of analysts' estimates due to declines at the company’s Express unit, Bloomberg reported.

Deutsche Post’s third-quarter profit rose to $685.2 million, up from $525.7 million in 2005, the company said in a statement.

Revenue rose to $19 billion from $14.1 billion last year.

Analysts had expected earnings of about $776 million, Bloomberg said.

Third quarter earnings before interest and taxes at the Express unit fell to about $116.1 million from $277.1 million a year earlier.
