C.R. England CEO Wayne Cederholm Dies at 57

C.R. England CEO Wayne Cederholm II died April 9 from complications of a bone marrow transplant. He was 57.

Cederholm joined C.R. England in 1980 and before becoming CEO in 2004, held a variety of positions, including credit manager, vice president of safety and personnel, vice president of administration, senior vice president of North American operations and chief operating officer.

As CEO, he directly supervised departments ranging from operations support and maintenance to legal and insurance.

“His determination was incredible,” said Dean England, president of C.R. England. “Now he is free from the challenges he has faced for the last eight months. He faced this with the same class and strength he always displayed with every challenge he faced during his long career with our company. We will miss him beyond measure. He left a mark on this organization that will be imprinted forever. In spite of our sorrow, we honor him and pay tribute to a life well-lived.”

Cederholm served on the board of the Professional Truck Driver Institute and also was chairman of the Utah Safety Council, a nonprofit safety-compliance organization.

He also worked with the Truckload Carriers Association and won three consecutive safety awards from that organization.

In 2003, Cederholm received the Heart and Hands Award from the youth work-readiness and entrepreneurship organization Junior Achievement, where he served on the board for 20 years.

An avid traveler, Cederholm’s trips took him to Venice, Italy, the Great Wall of China and to the historic St. Andrews golf course in Scotland, where he played golf with his sons — an item on his “bucket list.”

Cederholm is survived by his wife Peeches, sons Wayne and Dustin, daughter Tajha and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, Wayne, and sister, Shauna.

C.R. England, based in Salt Lake City, ranks No. 20 on the Transport Topics list of the Top 100 for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
