Contrans’ 3Q Income Improves

Canadian carrier Contrans Group’s third-quarter profit rose, in part on acquisitions, the company said.

Net income rose to C$7.2 million, or 21 cents a share, from C$6.3 million, or 18 cents, a year earlier.

Revenue rose to C$130.9 million, from $C116.2 million, the Woodstock, Ontario-based company said.

Acquisitions completed in 2012 contributed C$9.3 million of revenue from transportation services, the company said.



Contrans is ranked No. 63 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
