Consumer Confidence Slips in December

.S. consumer confidence in December fell from close to a 15-month high, the University of Michigan said Friday.

The university’s monthly index of consumer sentiment for December fell to 90.2 from 92.1 in November. It had a 93.6 reading in October, which was the highest since July 2005.

Economists had expected the index to fall to 92, Bloomberg reported.



The preliminary December reading will be updated later in the month.
