Company Offers Smart Phone Aimed at Trucking Industry

The company uDrove LLC has released a software program that it said will handle all of the trucking industry’s compliance management needs with a smart phone.

“Harnessing the power, accessibility and portability of a smart phone, including BlackBerry, iPhone and Android, uDrove replaces piles of in-cab paperwork with a simple, easy-to-use phone application,” the company said in a Feb. 1 statement.

The program “enables drivers to keep a log, track mileage for tax purposes, record fuel and business expenses and even complete and electronically submit drivers’ vehicle inspection reports and proof of delivery documents,” the company said. “It also provides fleets and shippers with real-time load tracking from pickup to delivery without the cost of expensive satellite systems.”

The uDrove company said that it is an affiliate of Internet Trucking, New Plymouth, Idaho, which describes itself as the largest Internet-based freight matching service.

The company leases the downloadable program for a monthly fee.
