Community College Turns Trailer Into Simulated Home

(John Wood Community College) Behind the door of this trailer is a simulated two-level home.

From the outside, the 48-foot truck trailer leaving John Wood Community College in Quincy, Ill., looks like just another cargo trailer, except that it bears the names of several corporate sponsors.

Inside, however, the trailer looks like a small-scale home. And at times, that home fills with smoke and ringing alarms as firefighters go through training drills.

It was designed to help educate students in two programs at the school — fire science and truck driver training.
