The North American Chassis Pool Cooperative, founded by drayage carriers to address chassis supply and maintenance issues, has announced the opening of a new premium pool at Savannah, Georgia, the second-busiest East Coast port.

The cooperative is working with Consolidated Chassis Management, a neutral chassis pool operator, to provide updated chassis that have radial tires, inflation systems and LED lights.

“This premium chassis pool, conveniently located outside the Port of Savannah, will enable us to make our safe and modern chassis available directly to motor carriers,” said David Manning, president of NACPC and a vice chairman at American Trucking Associations. “Although we have previously contributed new chassis with this equipment into the gray pools, this particular solution will ensure that our customers have access to a premium quality chassis each and every time.”
