C.H. Robinson’s Income, Revenue Rise in Second Quarter

ogistics provider C.H. Robinson Worldwide said late Tuesday its net income for the second quarter increased almost 53% to $49.3 million or 57 cents a share, up from $32.3 million or 37 cents a year earlier.

Total transportation gross profit increased 36% to $182.6 million, the company said in a statement.

Total revenue for the quarter rose to $1.4 billion, from $1.08 billion a year earlier.



Truck transportation gross profits rose 39.8%, driven by volume growth in both truckload and less-than-truckload sectors, C.H. Robinson said.

Intermodal gross profit dipped 0.8% on decreased volume and increased gross profit margins, the company said.

International ocean and air gross profits rose 12.2% in the quarter, which included the company’s expansion into China.

C.H. Robinson is ranked No. 14 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of the largest North American logistics companies.
