C.H. Robinson Reports Higher 2Q Profit

C.H. Robinson Worldwide reported higher a second-quarter profit, led by improved performance in its logistics operations.

Net income rose to $114.6 million, or 71 cents a share, from $111 million, or 67 cents, a year ago. Revenue rose 9.2% to $3 billion, the transportation and third-party logistics company said late Tuesday.

Total transportation revenue rose 0.3% to $369 million, with truck revenue slipped 0.5% to $312.6 million.

Intermodal and air revenue each fell more than 7% to about $10 million, while ocean revenue rose 3.4% to $17 million. Other logistics revenue jumped 26.7% to $18.8 million.

C.H. Robinson is ranked No. 6 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics firms.
