The California Trucking Association has named Shawn Yadon as its new chief executive officer.

Yadon, 52, will take over Jan. 2 from Mike Campbell, who announced in late June that he would retire in December after eight years as CEO.

The Yadon announcement was made Dec. 9, ending a six-month search.

“Shawn is no stranger to the trucking industry with nearly 20 years experience at FedEx, so we are very excited to welcome him back as he takes the lead of the nation’s largest state trucking association,” Bob Massman, vice president of The Dependable Cos. and the elected president of CTA, said in a statement.

Yadon has spent 24 years working in the corporate government affairs field, CTA said in the announcement.

After FedEx Corp., Yadon spent six years handling state government affairs for Etrade Financial, and he joins CTA after seven years at the global vehicle reseller Copart Inc. Yadon led the government and corporate affairs programs at Copart.
