Bridge Terminal Transport Expanding at Port of Wilmington, N.C.

rayage container carrier Bridge Terminal Transport Inc. said it was opening a new facility in at the port of Wilmington, N.C., and will be hiring independent drivers.

Port officials told the Charlotte (N.C.) Observer the company would be hiring 30 owner-operators for its expanded operations.

Container traffic at the Wilmington port rose by 92% in the past year, the port authority told the Observer.

BTT, headquartered in Charlotte, said it was the largest marine intermodal drayage company in the United States, with 37 terminals and 29 container yards.
