NSF Railway Co. said Tuesday it will reintroduce international intermodal container service from the Pacific Northwest to Memphis, Tenn., starting in January.

“BNSF is pleased to offer its ocean carrier customers and their shippers another North American gateway for goods moving between Asia and the rapidly growing Southeast market as well as the rest of BNSF’s expansive intermodal network,” said Fred Malesa, vice president of the railroad’s international intermodal unit.

He said trains will run from the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma, Wash., with improved velocity.
