Big Snowstorm Moving East

A huge Midwest snowstorm worked its way east Monday, stranding more than 70 motorists in Indiana in freezing temperatures, the Associated Press reported.

The storm, which closed parts of major interstate highways over the weekend in parts of Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota, AP said.

At least 11 deaths were attributed to the storm, which dumped nearly 2 feet of snow in parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin before moving into Michigan and Indiana, AP said. On Monday the system moved into Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.

Forecasters were expecting anywhere up to 6 inches of snow in the Pittsburgh area during a storm that could last more than 36 hours, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported on its website.
