Price of Imported Goods Declines in April

Tim Rue/Bloomberg News

The price of goods imported to the United States fell in April, the first decline since November, the Labor Department reported May. 13.

April’s 0.4% decline follows a 0.4% rise the prior month. Over the past 12 months, the import price index has declined 0.3%, Bloomberg News reported.

Excluding fuel, import prices were flat from March. Prices for foreign petroleum fell 0.7% in April, and natural-gas prices dropped 18.5%.
