UPS Expands Health-Care Logistics Network

UPS Inc.

UPS Inc. said Tuesday it has expanded its health-care distribution network, adding to or enlarging five distribution centers for the growing market sector.

It added a new center in its home city of Atlanta and expanded locations in Louisville, Ky.; Reno, Nev.; Mira Loma, Calif., and Burlington, Ontario, Canada.

Health care is one of the fastest-growing businesses for UPS, with its fourth-quarter revenue jumping more than 20% in the sector, Bloomberg News reported, citing company executives’ conference call last week.

“UPS is committed to investing in our global network and supporting industry demand to meet customer needs for increased speed, flexibility and efficiency,” Bill Hook, vice president of global strategy for UPS Healthcare Logistics, said in a statement.

UPS is ranked No. 1 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
