Expeditors’ 4Q Earnings Slip

Logistics firm Expeditors International of Washington said Tuesday its fourth-quarter profit slipped 4%, citing “irregular demand” in the quarter.

Net income was $92.8 million, or 43 cents a share, compared with $96.5 million, or 45 cents, a year ago. Revenue rose 5% to $1.61 billion.

Full-year net income rose to $385.7 million, or $1.79 per share, from $344.2 million, or $1.59, a year earlier.

Seattle-based Expeditors International of Washington is ranked No. 19 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics companies.
