Atlas Air Reports Improved Second-Quarter Results

tlas Air Worldwide Holdings, a provider of air cargo services, reported second-quarter net income Tuesday of $15.9 million 77 cents a share, compared with a loss of $51.4 million or $1.34 last year.

Revenue rose to $395.2 million for the quarter, up from $338.3 million a year earlier, the company said in a statement.

The quarter also included operating income of $43.8 million and pretax income of $26.9 million, compared with operating income of $8.2 million and a pretax loss of $51.4 million last year.



Unit revenues in all four of our service types were also higher during the quarter, and operating expenses, excluding aircraft fuel, were essentially flat," said Jeffrey Erickson, the company’s chief executive officer.
