ATA Marks National Transportation Week

American Trucking Associations is reminding people during this week’s National Transportation Week that trucks deliver the essentials that they need every day.

 

ATA’s outreach programs such as America’s Road Team and Share the Road are representing the industry at schools, community events, state trucking association safety award banquets and state truck driving championships this week.

 



“During National Transportation Week, trucking can convey the important role we play in moving the American economy,” said ATA President Bill Graves. “Trucks are the sole supplier to 80 percent of U.S. communities. We deliver food, clothing and medical supplies — and we do it safely.”

 

America’s Road Team will speak at the Maine, South Dakota, North Dakota and Nevada Truck Driving Championships this week, and visit an elementary class with the Trucker Buddy program.

 

An ART Captain also the American Trucking Associations speak at the National Judicial College to address the judges on what it is like to be a professional truck driver and guide them through a truck cab to see the impact of legislation first-hand.
