Ashley Furniture Affiliate Set to Acquire Wilson Logistics Assets

Ashley Furniture Industries affiliate Ashley Pacific Northwest on Nov. 22 entered into an agreement to acquire certain assets of Wilson Logistics.

Ashley Pacific Northwest is a regional unit of Ashley Distribution Services, both of which support the transportation needs of Ashley Furniture.

“This acquisition is expected to expand ADS’ brokerage and distribution operations in the western United States,” an Ashley Furniture spokesperson told Transport Topics. “We are excited to welcome members of the Wilson team as we continue to service existing customers and expand upon the strong legacy established by Wilson.”

The company anticipates the transaction closing by the end of the year. Terms were not disclosed.

Ashley Furniture, based in Arcadia Wis., ranks No. 36 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest private carriers in North America, and ADS is No. 1 on the list of manufacturing carriers.

Ashley Furniture founded ADS in 1974 to serve as its own transportation fleet. The distribution company has more than 900 tractors and 3,700 trailers.

Wilson Logistics is based in Springfield, Mo., with offices in Missoula, Mont., Porland, Ore., and Pacific, Wash. It has a fleet of 800 tractor and 2,000 trailers.
