Accuride Takes 1Q Loss

Commercial vehicle component maker Accuride Corp. said Monday it lost $1.9 million or 5 cents a share in the first quarter, compared with a profit of $20 million or 58 cents a year ago.

Sales fell 9.6% to $325.4 million, the company said in a statement. Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes fell 9.7% to $49.2 million.

Accuride blamed the loss on early-year declines in truck sales due to new emissions standards that took effect in January, but said it was maintaining its full-year guidance of adjusted earnings before interest and taxes to $115 million to $135 million.

Accuride went public in April 2005.
