Accuride Reports 4Q Loss

Accuride Corp. posted a $156.5 million fourth-quarter loss, citing a charge related to its Gunite division.

The truck and auto component maker lost $3.30 per share for the quarter, compared with net earnings of $4.1 million, or 9 cents per share, a year ago.

Sales fell 27.3% to $176.3 million, Evansville, Ind.-based Accuride said.

The results include a $131.6 million, or $2.78 per share, one-time charge related to its Gunite wheels-parts division.

Net orders for commercial vehicle segment supplies improved in the quarter with the arrival of the industry’s traditional peak order season, Accuride said.

Class 8 net truck orders rose 42.2% from the third quarter, with medium-duty and trailer order levels increasing 22.9% and 64.3%, respectively, the company said.
