District of Columbia Sues Amazon for ‘Stealing’ Delivery Driver Tips

The attorney general for Washington, D.C., is suing Amazon.com Inc., seeking civil penalties for allegedly misleading consumers who thought they were tipping delivery drivers but had the money diverted to cover the couriers’ base pay.

D.C. Mayor Appoints Jeff Marootian as Interim DDOT Director

District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser appointed Jeff Marootian as DDOT’s interim director to fill the shoes of its current director, Leif Dormsjo. Marootian has been with DDOT since March as the deputy director and, before that, served as assistant secretary for administration with the U.S. Department of Transportation during the Obama administration.
