Volvo Unveils New VN Trucks to Help Meet EPA Rules

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Volvo unveiled a line of heavy-duty trucks here last week that company officials predicted would boost sales above their competition during the fourth quarter.
Top Volvo executives said their lighter, more aerodynamic VN series would provide enough fuel efficiency to offset fuel-use declines predicted for lower-emission engines required as of Oct. 1.They also said they were confident federal regulators would certify Volvo’s new 12-liter engine in time to begin production Nov. 4.
