USA Truck Returns to Profit

USA Truck Thursday reported a $900,000 profit in the second quarter, compared with a $1.2 million loss a year ago.

 

Per-share, the company earned 9 cents, compared with an 11-cent loss last year.

Revenue rose to $113.7 million, from $92.4 million, while trucking revenue rose 9.6% to $83.6 million, the truckload carrier said in a statement.



“We made solid year-over-year progress this quarter and dramatically improved our performance sequentially from the first quarter this year,” Chief Executive Officer Clifton Beckham said. The carrier achieved its near-term goal of returning to profitability by the second quarter of 2010, Beckham added.

USA Truck is ranked No. 57 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
