Uber Freight announced a partnership with MercuryGate, an independent transportation management service provider, in a blog post Aug. 8.

Uber Freight said MercuryGate is a cloud-based TMS, known across the industry for offering software that helps transportation businesses.

“Through this integration, MercuryGate can provide their users instant visibility into Uber Freight’s real-time pricing and guaranteed capacity for their freight lanes, right in their existing routing guides within MercuryGate.” Uber Freight officials wrote. “These rates — based on data from Uber Freight’s extensive carrier network of over 400,000 drivers and proprietary pricing algorithms — move in accordance with market dynamics.

“The data on transparent market conditions can help logistics executives estimate and compare freight cost savings in advance of booking, directly within their existing MercuryGate system and workflow.”

The partnership will aid San Francisco-based Uber Freight in providing users valuable insight, the companies said.

“Shippers need reliable information to drive speed and efficiency in their 24/7 operations,” MercuryGate CEO Joe Juliano said. “By tapping into Uber Freight’s trusted carrier network, customers of all sizes can realize the benefits of a digital freight marketplace with access to real-time pricing and a vast network of available carriers and guaranteed capacity.”

Uber Freight said it partners with TMS providers to bring load coverage to shippers any hour of the day, seven days a week.

Founded in 2000, North Carolina-based MercuryGate has about 300 employees. In August 2018, it was acquired by investment firm Summit Partners for an undisclosed amount. — Transport Topics
