TMC Sets Task Forces to Address Natural Gas, Other Issues

PITTSBURGH — The Technology & Maintenance Council said it has formed new task forces to look at natural gas, coolant and electronics issues facing the trucking industry.

TMC’s engines study group formed a task force focused on compressed and liquefied natural gas and another looking into proper coolant filling of diesel engines.

Its service provider study group created task forces on emissions tampering and technician career-path development.

TMC’s onboard vehicle electronics study group created a task force on risk assessment and security in electronic data logging.

TMC, a council of American Trucking Associations, made the recommendations at its fall meeting here earlier this month.
