Seko Logistics Acquires GoodShip International

Seko Logistics, a supply chain solutions provider, has acquired GoodShip International Inc. The move marks Seko’s first full acquisition of another independent freight forwarding specialist in its 42-year history, the company stated in a Jan. 3 press release.

GoodShip International provides customs brokerage, compliance, air and ocean freight solutions to its clients, with emphasis on Trans-Pacific eastbound cargo movements.

In the past year, Seko has announced a number of expansion plays, including a first foray into Mexico and a handful of location openings. In October, the company announced a partnership with beauty retailer Feelunique to open a distribution hub in Hong Kong.

“GoodShip is a perfect example of the type of company we had in mind when we announced our expansion strategy earlier this year,” said James T. Gagne, Seko president and CEO, in the release. “GoodShip’s customs brokerage and compliance expertise has earned the respect and trust of the company’s customers in Chicago and the Midwest and this will add more depth to what we offer today.”

In all, Seko Logistics has more than 120 offices in 40 countries. It ranks No. 35 on Transport Topics’ list of top airfreight forwarders and No. 55 on the list of top dry storage warehousing firms in North America. — Transport Topics
