Roadrunner Transportation Systems said it is expanding its less-than-truckload service in the Phoenix and Salt Lake City metropolitan areas, beginning next week.

Outbound service will begin on June 15 from Phoenix and July 20 from Salt Lake City, and the centers will focus on service to Southern California, the Great Lakes, Tennessee, Texas and the Southeast.

“Our customer base has expressed the need for service in Phoenix and Salt Lake City, and . . . the Phoenix presence will also allow us to provide added service levels to the Mexico market,” said Grant Crawford, president of Roadrunner’s LTL unit.

Roadrunner Transportation Systems, which has truckload and LTL operations, is ranked No. 21 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
