Premier Trailer Leasing said it acquired the assets of Baltimore-based Vallerie Service Co., a provider of trailer and container rental and leasing services with about 1,200 semitrailers and 200 containers.

Terms of the transaction, which closed May 5, were not disclosed, said Lewisville, Texas-based PTL, which provides trailer rental and leasing assets to the shipping and trucking industry.

With the acquisition, Premier said it will have more than 29,000 trailers at 26 nationwide locations.

“This acquisition is an outstanding fit for our company, allowing Premier to better serve our East Coast customers,” said Jim Aubuchon, Premier’s president and CEO. “This is a strategic location that puts us in the important Baltimore and Washington, D.C., markets and fills a void we had between Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Richmond, Virginia.”

Michael Vallerie, that company’s president, will join PTL.

Premier “brings scalable technology and new equipment to our existing customer base, and we provide them with a premium location and operational expertise contributing to their growth,” he said in a statement.

Premier Trailer Leasing is owned by Garrison Investment Group, a private equity firm based in New York with about $3.5 billion of assets under management.

In the past four years, PTL has grown from 11,000 trailers to more than 29,000, and investing more than $200 million to invest in technology and acquire trailers including specialized flatbeds and refrigerated and dry vans.
